Van Loan Delivers More Recreation Funding
for Georgina Residents
Whipper Watson Park to Receive Federal
Dollars

(Georgina, Ontario) -
Georgina residents are set to receive a
boost of federal dollars for Whipper Watson
Park.
Peter Van Loan, Member of Parliament for
York-Simcoe announced today that the park
will receive infrastructure funding. The
federal contribution of $333,667 will be
matched by the Province.
“Parks play an important role here in the
community of Georgina. said Van Loan. I am
pleased we can support our residents by
funding a vital recreation facility like
Whipper Watson, while encouraging active and
healthy lifestyles.”
This contribution builds on our Government’s
previous commitment to support recreation in
York-Simcoe. The $4,736,458 to Georgina’s
Outdoor Recreation Campus, as well as the
$383,333 to fund the multi-purpose trails in
the Outdoor Campus, demonstrates the
Canadian Government’s commitment to support
communities.
This initiative will support economic
stimulus and job creation, renew and
rehabilitate existing recreational
infrastructure, while encouraging higher
levels of participation in physical activity
and community building.
