(Holland Landing, Ontario) -
Peter Van Loan,
Member of Parliament for York-Simcoe
announced today that the Town of Innisfil
will receive $108,000 from the Federal
Government’s Community Adjustment Fund for
Southern Ontario.
The funding will go towards improving and
revitalizing Innisfil’s parks and recreation
facilities, while stimulating the economy
and enhancing local facilities. "This
funding is another boost for our community
and will make Innisfil an even better place
to live, work and play," said Van Loan.
"The town will be hiring staff to redesign
and improve Town Parks and Recreation
Facilities. This investment in recreation
will support residents in our community and
improve the quality of life for young and
active families."
These investments will create immediate
employment opportunities and support local
economies in communities throughout Southern
Ontario. The Community Adjustment Fund is
just one in a series of initiatives
introduced in the Government of Canada’s
Economic Action Plan designed to address the
short-term effects of the economic decline
on communities across Canada, while
