Statement by Peter Van Loan on the Death of
York Regional Police Constable Garrett
Styles

York-Simcoe Member of Parliament Peter Van
Loan issued the following statement
regarding the death of Constable Garrett
Styles:
"It is with great sadness that I learned of
the death of York Regional Police Constable
Garrett Styles. Our hearts go out to
Constable Styles’ family, especially his
wife and two young children.
"On behalf of the residents of York-Simcoe
and all Canadians I offer my deepest
condolences to all those who knew Garrett
Styles for this tragic and senseless loss.
"His life, and tragic death, reminds us of
the courage with which our police serve us
every day.
"Constable Styles, his wife and his recently
retired father have all made important
contributions through their many years of
service to the York Regional Police.
Their work has made our neighbourhoods and
community safer.
"Our community thanks Constable Styles for
his service, he will be remembered."
